FMP

My idea is 'The concept of aging' when i first thought of using this idea i really didn't know how to build on it untill i realized how much revolves about aging in pretty much everything. I noticed a line of tree's around this area and it seemed to be the concept of aging right there. A small sapling growing into a plant into a tree then degrading back into the soil, i really loved the concept of it so i tried to find more natural aspects of aging. Even a few broken walls caught my eye, all stable then collapsed into the floor. after that i had to think of ways to photograph it without it just looking like a few random photos anyone could take.

I wanted to involve my Family, my sister has just had a baby and she want's progression photos to keep, another area is my grandparents and there daily struggle in there household.

Expanding on that the concept of Technology has always been a love of mine, i can never throw old technology away, i have a collection of old SLR film camera, i always take them out instead of my DSLR because i prefer the quality and feel they give. That's why i wan't to take half my photos in film and scan them to get the ageing feel on my work. Hopefully i can get some successful work from my Film camera's to match up with the work on my DSLR.

My mindset towards my idea is that i really wan't to show as much of i can of ageing before it disappears.

I really wan't my film shots to make the impression that they are the start of ageing, I still think a 60 year old camera can take perfectly good photo's, it's one of the main reason i could never throw any of them away even if they break.

starting my research

i started by searching for comparison photo's but came across a photographer called Michael Wesley, a German photographer who spend year's taking photos with a long shutter exposer, showing the building concept of a renovation of a Museum.

Taking photo's overtime of the same structure to show it's progression of the build. Clearly the photo's wouldn't be perfect shooting in the mid 90's without any editing software. The photo's came out great in my opinion, and the photographer say's this technique can be used over the time span of 20,30 or even 40 years!
Hopefully i can replicate something like this by merging 3 or more photo's together.

I spent a while looking at the photo-sets of people recreating photos from there previous years. I came across this one simply called BACK TO THE FUTURE (http://irinawerning.com/back-to-the-fut/back-to-the-future/) effectively shot in the same spot in the same quality in the same cloths, i also came across a celebrity one in (http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/gallery/2011/mar/05/celebrity-comedy) but it doesn't have the same effect, i wan't at-least one of my final images to have this because it's a great idea.

Personally the reason i wanted to do this idea is because i still am not a big believer that the more new it gets the better it is. i still like my old games and console's, old car's and buildings, i came across some photo's of my favourite car on Flickr, personally it has great framing and lighting and i would love to replicate a photo like this with an old car. considering the mk1 is 40 year's older it still takes a great photo.

Interview Brief : started by editing some images and thinking of a theme, here are some of the simple edits and the experimental's i tried. I used the spot heal on all my images too clear up some of the marks on my model's face and used a lot finer spot heal too minimise some of the strands of hair sticking out. On the second image i used the same tools in Photoshop but added a filter called High Pass and layered it over. I won't be using the image but like'd the idea of trying something different.
